Vietnam-South Africa trade increases

Pretoria , December 26 (VNA) – Two-way trade between Vietnam and South Africa reached 750 million USD in 2012.

Of the figure, Vietnam ’s export turnover was 630 million USD, up 5 percent compared to the set target of 600 million USD, while its import value stood at 120 million USD.

Vietnam ’s exports to South Africa , the country’s largest trade partner in Africa , include coffee, cashew nut, pepper, rice, garment, footwear and electronic products.

According to Commercial Counselor Le Kinh Thang, Vietnamese businesses can increase their market shares in South Africa through advertising their products at exhibitions and fairs.

He advised them to keep close contact with Vietnam ’s trade offices in foreign countries before negotiating and signing any contract./.
