VN, EU vow to boost relations

Hanoi  , Mar. 1 (VNA) –  Vietnam  vows to do its utmost to elevate relations with the European Union, said National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

Hung was speaking to the Chief Operating Officer of the European External Action Service David O’Sullivan, who began his visit to  Vietnam  on Feb. 29.  The visit, according to Hung, will help forge a stronger partnership between the two sides. He also affirmed that  Vietnam  attaches importance to its relations with the EU, but felt that cooperation could still be improved in areas such as science, culture, education, health care, environmental protection and national defence. O’Sullivan said despite rapid intensification in the bilateral trade relations, there is room to increase the number of EU-invested projects in  Vietnam .  He also said  Vietnam  is a key partner and a vital link between the EU and ASEAN./.
