
The information was released in a recent survey carried out by the German Industry and Commerce (GIC).
A number of German enterprises are seeking for new investment opportunities and expanding their operation in Viet Nam. The Southeast Asian nation has become more attractive as the ASEAN Economic Community has officially been established and Viet Nam inked crucial trade agreements such as the EU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement and the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement.
More than half of the German enterprises participating in this survey are very optimistic when asked about the prospects for Viet Nam’s economic development. 47% of companies are confident in the growth of this economy in the next coming years. 70% of them are very satisfied with the business results. 58% of them are positive about the growth of revenues in the coming year.
54% of participants confirm that they will increase investment and 58% of them have recruitment plan in 2017.
Some 23% of the participants in the survey are operating in the industry and construction sector, 58% in the service sector and 19% from the trade sector.
The purpose of this assessment is to understand the intentions and expectations of the German business community in Viet Nam as well as their obstacles and challenges when launching business in Viet Nam.
