The 2015 provincial competitiveness index (PCI) recognized better performances by some provinces.

Accordingly, Da Nang continued to take the lead; followed by Dong Thap, Quang Ninh, Vinh Phuc, and Lao Cai provinces.

Dau Anh Tuan, Head of the Legal Department at VCCI attributed the high performance of Quang Ninh province and Da Nang city to their effectively operating public administrative centers where the satisfaction of local people and enterprises over public services have been publicly measured.

HCMC is applying a switchboard of 1080 to assist business registration.

The northern province of Vinh Phuc came back the Top 5 as 72% of local enterprises were satisfied with effective operation of public servants.

The capital city of Ha Noi leaped two steps forward from 26 to 24 due to weak performance in land and market accession.

U.S. Ambassador to Viet Nam Ted Osius shared that the index served to promote the role of private sector; encourage localities to improve business environment; and help Viet Nam develop more comprehensively in the future.

The PCI 2015 report was jointly conducted by the Viet Nam Chamber of Industry and Trade (VCCI) and the USAID, surveying 11,700 enterprises across Viet Nam, including 1,600 FDI firms.
