Vietnam market becomes more attractive: Italian ambassador

Vietnam-HCM5

Addressing the press, the ambassador stressed that the Europe – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, of which Vietnam is a partner, have helped the country become more attractive to Italian enterprises including those which are already performing here as well as those who are setting eyes on the Vietnamese market.

According to Cecilia Piccioni, the “Across the length and breadth of Vietnam” journey, a fact-finding tour which took place in early March and, was held to raise understanding about the development of Vietnamese localities, has led more Italian firms to seek opportunities to do business in Vietnam.

She and Italian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Carlotta Colli visited Thua Thien Hue province and the city of Danang, and had meetings with local authorities. The two sides agreed to cooperate in trade and investment, especially when the above agreements are implemented. The Italian ambassador also stressed cooperation in culture and fashion between the two countries.
