ADB, Vietnam Sign Partnership Strategy

ADB

The Asian Development Bank and authorities in Vietnam have launched a partnership to support green urban infrastructure and sustainable development in the country.

The Vietnam Country Partnership Strategy covers 2016 to 2020 and aims to maintain ADB lending at around $1 billion per annum. It will include investment in measures to improve the “readiness and quality of projects” being supported.

“Sharing our knowledge will also play a key role in the new CPS, with a particular focus on strengthening the business enabling environment, promoting fiscal transparency and public accountability, and fostering integrated and green urban infrastructure,” said Eric Sidgwick, ADB country director for Vietnam.

Based in the Manila, Philippines, the ADB, provides finance for projects throughout Asia and the Pacific and is owned by 67 member organisations. Last year, assistance from the bank totalled $27.2 billion.
