Exports of goods to several ASEM countries saw growth

The bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and several ASEM countries saw growth in the recent years.

In the first seven months of this year, the country’s exports of goods to those countries also increased over the same period last year. 

Netherlands – big export market of Vietnam

In the recent years, the bilateral trade exchange between Vietnam and the Netherlands has been developing ceaselessly.

The Netherlands is now the fourth biggest export market of Vietnam in Europe, after Germany, the U.K and France.

The main items exported by the country to the Netherlands include telephones and accessories; footwear of all kinds; textiles and garments; cashew nuts; pepper; coffee; seafood; fruit and vegetables; wood and furniture; wood products. The main items imported by the country from the Netherlands include milk and dairy products; drugs and pharmaceutical materials; iron and steel of all kinds; plastics; animal feed and materials; chemicals; plastics, etc. 

Vietnam exported US$ 3.27 billion worth of goods to the Netherlands in the first 7 months of this year, up by 26.7 per cent over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures. 

The leading items exported by the country to the Netherlands in the first 7 months of this year were electronics and computers with $ 889.88 million, up by 56.2 per cent year – on – year and accounted for 27.2 per cent of the total; telephones and accessories - $ 623.34 million, up by 38.6 per cent; footwear of all kinds - $ 339.45 million, up by 8.6 per cent.

In the first 7 months of this year, the country’s exports of cameras, camcorders and accessories rocketed by 653.6 per cent; that of chemicals – up by 326.7 per cent; handbags, wallets, suitcases, hats and umbrellas – up by 51.3 per cent; fruit and vegetables – up by 39.5 per cent. 

However, the country’s exports of metals; rubber; rubber products; toys, sport equipment and accessories saw decrease of 27.3 per cent; 23.7 per cent; 19.1 per cent; and 12.2 per cent, respectively.

Exports to Italy reached $ 1.89 billion

Vietnam’s exports of goods to Italy reached US$ 1.89 billion in the first 7 months of this year, up by 11.84 per cent over the same period last year, according to the statistics figures.

Vietnam exported to Italy mostly telephones and accessories; coffee; footwear of all kinds; textiles and garments; machines, equipment and spare parts; seafood; electronics and computers; rubber; textile and footwear accessories, etc…

Telephones and accessories were leading the list of items exported by the country to Italy in the first 7 months of this year with the export turnover of $ 771.06 million, up by 19.87 per cent over the same period last year and accounted for 40 per cent of the total.

Footwear of all kinds ranked second with $ 204.32 million, up by 2.4 per cent; and then computers and electronics with $ 156.77 million, down by 0.88 per cent.

Vietnam’s exports of fruit and vegetables to Italy saw increase of 69.56 per cent; that of means of transport and spare parts – up by 42.84 per cent. 

Exports to Austria increased nearly 14 per cent

Vietnam exported US$ 1.39 billion worth of goods to Austria in the first 7 months of this year, up by 13.64 per cent over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures. 

Telephones and spare parts were leading the list of items exported by the country to Austria in the first 7 months of this year with the export turnover of $ 1.26 billion, up by 17.45 per cent over the same period last year and accounted for 80 per cent of the total.

Footwear of all kinds ranked second with the export turnover of $ 20.25 million; and then machines, equipment and spare parts with $ 18.16 million, up by 174.05 per cent.

Austria is one of the most potential markets for Vietnam’s export items. Vietnam exported to Australia mostly telephones and spare parts; footwear of all kinds; machines, equipment and spare parts; textile and garments; wood and furniture; accessories for footwear and garments; bamboo, rattan, sedge and carpet products; ceramic and porcelain products, etc. 

Exports to Belgium surged

Vietnam exported US$ 1.12 billion worth of goods to Belgium in the first 7 months of this year, up by 10.55 per cent over the same period last year, showed the statistics figures. 

Belgium is an important export market of Vietnam in EU. The most items imported by Belgium are the main items exported by Vietnam such as footwear of all kinds; textile and garments; seafood; handbags, wallets, suitcases, hats and umbrellas. Belgium is also the country’s big import market of construction stones, wood and furniture; coal; rubber and coffee.

Footwear of all kinds was leading the list of items exported by the country to Belgium in the first 7 months of this year with the export turnover of $ 477.26 million, up by 16.99 per cent over the same period last year.

Textile and garments ranked second with the export turnover of $ 117.64 million; up by 10.16 per cent.
