CPI in Hanoi in November: an increase of 0.29%; in Ho Chi Minh City, 0.28%

Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Hanoi in November has increased by 0.29% as against the previous month, a year-on-year 18.49% increase and a 16.36% increase over December last year, according to the Hanoi Statistics Department.

Nine out of eleven groups of goods have seen slight increase, in which the group of household equipment and appliances has grossed the highest increase of 0.88%; garments, headwares and footwares have seen an increase of 0.75%; other goods and services, 0.74% and education, 0.44%.

As judged by economic experts, this month’s CPI in Hanoi has still been affected by the 2.92% increase of food with an increase of rice price of VND 500 to VND 1,000 per kilo, while the price of meat has reduced to VND 2,000 to VND 10,000 per kilo.

Consumer Price Index in Ho Chi Minh City in November has seen a 0.28% increase as against the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 16.88%.

The highest increase (0.81%) has been seen in the services in eating and drinking, while the food group has increased by 4.56% and the foodstuff group, by 0.07% only. Rice has seen the highest increase of 5.72%; beef, by 2.30%; processed aqua products, 1.74%; assorted vegetables, 4.87% and assorted milk, 0.55%.

The household equipment and appliances have seen a slight increase of 0.41%; garments, headwears and footwears, 0.10%; drinks and cigarettes, 0.08%, medicines and medical services, 0.01%. During this time, power and water, fuel and entertainments have seen a reduction.

* Gold price index in Hanoi in November has increased by 0.11% and a year-on-year increase of 32.62%; dollar price in November has increased by 0.68% and a year-on-year increase of 2.26%.

In Ho Chi Minh City, gold price index in November has increased by 0.09% and a year-on-year increase of 32.70%; dollar price in November has increased by 0.68% and a year-on-year increase of 4.24%./.
