A boost for trade promotion

FPolicy

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has issued Decision 206/QD-BCT on a national trade promotion program in 2016.

The program consists of 177 projects with a total expenditure of US$90 billion.

The program targets to beef up trade promotion activities, exports, domestic and foreign fairs.

It also aims to expand trade promotion activities in rural, mountainous, border markets and contribute to the “Buying Vietnamese goods campaign.”

Last year, the program helped Viet Nam expand traditional markets like the U.S, the EU, China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea. It also supported enterprises to return to Russia and other East European countries and beef up operation in Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, the Middle East and Africa.

Statistics showed that the program supported 8,850 enterprises to open 14,499 booths at domestic and foreign fairs; attract over 3 million visitors, and ink economic contracts worth US$858 million and VND637.8 billion.
