About 300 hectares will be developed into hi-tech agricultural parks in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong's Duc Trong district.
The Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Development, the People’s Committee of Lam Dong province and the Japanese embassy in Viet Nam had a working to discuss Japan's support for Lam Dong in developing management mechanism, operation, technologies; and building agricultural parks.
Viet Nam has abundant natural resources but the country has not yet exploited its potential and has low quality and productivity as a result.
The Vietnamese Government hopes that Japanese businesses will bring hi-tech, modern machines to help local companies produce value-added products.
At the working session, Japanese embassador to Viet NamFukada Hiroshi said that the Japanese Government, relevant organizations and enterprises will support Lam Dong in building hi-tech agricultural parks as per the Japan International Cooperation Agency, Japanese DI consulting firm, aiming to improve the quality of Da Lat- Lam Dong farm products for the country's market and Asian region.
Lam Dong is well-known for its vegetable and flower cultivation. The province is chosen as a model for Japan-Viet Nam agricultural cooperation in the mid and long term.
