
Foreign visitors to Viet Nam over the recent four months of 2016 numbered 3,248,600, a year-on-year increase of 17.8%, according to the General Statistics Office.
As many as 789,500 foreigners travelling to Viet Nam in April, down 3.8% against the previous month and up 11.9% compared to the same period last year.
There was a sharp increase in the number of tourists from such markets as Hong Kong up 143.3%, China up 47%, the Republic of Korea up 30.2%, Thailand up 29.6%, Italia up 29.2%, Sweden up 27.1%, the UK up 23% and Spain up 21.4%.
The domestic visitors in four months reached 22.8 million, including 11.2 million who used lodging services.
The total revenue from tourism reached VND135,796 billion, up 19.6%.
