Deputy PM: Vietnam looks for investment in airport infrastructure

Vuong Dinh Hue zing

The Vietnamese government desires domestic and foreign investors to invest in airport infrastructure in Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue told corporate executives of Zurich Airport during a reception in Hanoi on October 25.

Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue said the Vietnamese aviation sector has grown significantly over the past years and has been placed among the world’s top five markets in terms of airline passenger volume from 2015-2035, just behind China, India and Indonesia.

Apart from Dong Nai-based Long Thanh airport, Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue also introduced Van Don, Chu Lai and Lao Cai airport projects to Zurich Airport to consider the possibility of cooperation.

The host also agreed with the group’s proposal on building infrastructure services and facilities around airports in Vietnam.

Chief Financial Officer of Zurich Airport Lukas Brosi said the visit aims to gain insights into Vietnam’s airport planning, including Long Thanh airport.

The guests expressed their wish to partner with Vietnam in training, transfer of management technology and airport exploitation.
