TUV Rheinland boosts Vietnam textile testing capabilities

dệt may

Inspection, testing and certification provider TUV Rheinland Vietnam has boosted its apparel and textile testing capabilities with a new gas fume chamber at its softlines laboratory in Ho Chi Minh City.

The first such facility within the TUV Rheinland Asia Pacific network, the gas fume chamber tests the colour-fastness of textiles to burnt gas fumes.

"One of the key requirements for many textile and apparel products is to determine the colour-fastness of textiles when exposed to nitrogen oxides in the atmosphere that are created by the combustion of gases," says Frank Juettner, general director of TUV Rheinland Vietnam.

"With this new equipment, TUV Rheinland Vietnam will enable Vietnam's ambitious and energetic textile and apparel players to meet the needs of local consumers and tap into challenging but extremely lucrative international markets."

Textiles and apparel is Vietnam's second most important industry and is seeing rapid growth ahead of the expected benefits of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the EU-Vietnam free trade agreement.

With its new equipment, the softlines laboratory will be able to test materials according to ISO 105 - G02, AATCC 23 and GB/T 11039 standards that are essential for customers interested in the EU, US and Asia Pacific Markets.
