6 activities of developing Customs – Business partnership

General Department of Vietnam Customs has issued a Decision No. 228/QĐ-TCHQ promulgating the Plan of Developing Customs - Business Partnership and stakeholders in 2019.

The development of Customs – Business and stakeholders, has for many years been a regular activity by the Customs authority. Each year, the partnership development activities have a specific orientation.

In 2019, the development of partnerships are to focus on 6 main activities including: Informing, propaganda about partner activities; supporting businesses; strengthening consultation activities with businesses and stakeholders; law enforcement supervision; cooperating with the business community; training knowledge and developing partnership skills.

With the full implementation of the above activities, the issue of developing customs partnerships in 2019 aims to continue to deploy more deeply and widely the cooperation activities across sector, encourage businesses to actively integrate by cooperating, sharing and accompanying with Customs.

Accordingly, the General Department of Vietnam Customs requires units to take the initiative and actively implement the contents of the plan in accordance with the actual situation in the unit, in the spirit of the right audience and the right content.

Strengthening to organize the activities at department/branch level and proactively reaching out to businesses, grasping, sharing and supporting enterprises to comply with the law.

Linking partnerships activities to regular tasks of the units, participating in solving arising problems between the Customs authorities and enterprises.

Moreover, working closely with competent authorities, with industry organizations in the area in order to effectively organize cooperation activities with the business community.

In 2018, the whole sector signed a cooperation agreement with 8244 enterprises to facilitate the supervision of the performance of public duties implemented by customs officers, and to facilitate the process of handling arising problems.

Regarding cooperation activities with associations, in 2018, the whole sector has signed a cooperation agreement with 5 more Business Associations, bringing the total number of business associations to 60. The main activities are to prioritize training, guidance and to answer difficulties, and for giving recommendations for promulgated new legal policies.
