Hanoi, September 9 (VNA) – The third round of negotiations on a free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan opened on September 9 in Minsk, the capital of Belarus.

During the five-day talks, delegations will hold discussions on trading commodity and service, and investment, commercial law, trade dispute settlement, customs management as well as advantages and disadvantages in building the FTA.

Started in March with the first two rounds of talks held in Hanoi and Moscow, the parties have reached consensus on a plenary structure of the agreement as well as a roadmap of building the FTA.

The FTA is hoped to create a breakthrough in bilateral relations, helping lift customs barriers, and bring great opportunities for the union to penetrate potential ASEAN countries’ markets in parallel with opening the door for Vietnamese goods to its member countries.
