Hanoi, November 11 (VNA) –The Myanmar Rubber Planters and Producers Association (MRPPA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on manufacturing and exporting rubber with the Japan Rubber Manufacturers Association (JRMA) and the Rubber Trade Association of Japan (RTAJ) in Myanmar’s city of Yangon.
Eleven Myanmar newspaper quoted MRPPA Secretary Khine Myint as saying that under the MoU, Japan will assist Myanmar produce high-quality rubber, and in return Myanmar will export the product to Japan .
According to Myint, Japanese experts will provide technology for rubber plantations in Mon State , while giving the necessary aid to help Myanmar manufacturerubber products that can compete in international markets.
RTAJ General Secretary Yoshi Kanai said the association will consult the Myanmar Rubber Association to help with the manufacturing of high-quality rubber in respective regions and the two sides will also discuss importing the rubber into the Japanese market.
The two sides’ representatives have discussed carrying out a fact-finding survey at rubber plantations in Mon State . They will also study the current process of rubber production in Myanmar. /.
