Vietnam boosts exports to Europe via Czech

Hanoi , September 3 (VNA) – A trade promotion centre is expected to put into operation in the Czech Republic by early 2015 with the aim of promoting Vietnamese commodities in the European markets, according to the European Market Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The centre will be set up in Prague by the associations of small and medium-sized Vietnamese businesses in the Czech Republic and the association of Czech SMEs and retailers, prompted by the fact that Vietnamese-made goods are little known in Europe .

The first phase of the centre will feature eight showrooms for Vietnamese businesses to showcase their various kinds of products such as seafood, vegetable, fruits, coffee, tea, and handicrafts.

It will be further expanded with the aim of becoming a representative of Vietnam in the Czech market in particular and Europe in general by 2017.

Vietnam earned 94 million USD from its exports to Czech in the first seven months of this year. The figure included 16 million USD in July alone, a year-on-year increase of 32.8 percent.

Vietnam has been recently named as one of 12 priority markets in Czech’s foreign trade policy in the 2011-2015 period.
